Job Description



GENERAL PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining key regulatory compliance programs for SYKES and its subsidiaries. Key focus areas are providing subject matter expertise and program leadership to various IT and Security teams in support of achieving and maintaining HITRUST and SOC compliance. This position will interface directly with vendors / auditors and be responsible for maintaining a successful relationship in support of various certification programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to SYKES policies on ethics and integrity.
  • Responsible for leading implementation initiatives and executing activities related to attainment and maintenance of specific regulatory and/or desired Information Technology compliance frameworks for HITRUST and SOC.
  • Actively participate in the continuous enhancement of the compliance program by identifying opportunities to improve and implement automated processes.
  • Use multiple sources of information, including broader stakeholder views, to develop solutions and recommendations.
  • Manage relationship with selected external certification firm(s).
  • Manage MSA and supplier / audit firm contracts, payments, and renewals.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage scope requirements for compliance.
  • Responsible for providing documentation required for certification assessments in a complete and timely manner.
  • Develop and enhance systems, tools, and processes to ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Work as the Subject Matter Expert to enhance the compliance program as audit / certification / attestation standards change or evolve.
  • Develop, manage, and track Remediation activities.
  • May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Required qualifications, skills and experience

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree required and five (5) plus years' experience with HIPAA/HITRUST/SOC compliance and/or auditing and assessment.

HITRUST CCSFP, HCISPP, CISSP, CISM, Security+ or CISA certification preferred. Familiarity with the HITRUST CSF or another security framework methodology required.

Proven experience working with the HIPAA Security and Privacy Rules, as well as the HITRUST CSF. A solid understanding of IT security technologies including network and application security, firewalls, access management, and data protection.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful candidates must possess technical knowledge, risk management, and project management experience, as well as exhibit maturity, confidence and strong communication and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills in the areas of leading through influence, relationship building and strategy development and execution.
  • Ability to cultivate channels of communication (both written and verbal) to effectively influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and/or compliance audits.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, able to work both independently and as part of a project team in a fast-paced environment, and under tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment and familiarity with tools and techniques used to provide control and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper analytical processes and procedures, independently derive conclusions and present ideas and solutions to management and related parties.
