Community Relations Specialist
PURPOSE: This position is responsible for building brand awareness of Sykes Enterprises, Incorporated in local communities through connecting with current employees and community organizations at SYKES hosted events. This role will also act as a key member of the North America Communications and Public Relations team, designing and implementing the community relations aspects of key region-wide public relations, communications and marketing strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Adheres to SYKES policies on ethics and integrity. Manage the SYKES Employee Relief Fund and lead the fundraising efforts, including coordinating major fundraising events for vendors and clients to contribute to the ERF and localized employee fundraising campaigns. Design and implement employee engagement events and campaigns to represent SYKES favorably in the community, related to furthering region business goals and in partnership between North America Communications, North America Human Resources and North America Recruiting.Manage all activities with external administrator of the Employee Relief Fund including communicating with internal senior leadership governance, on-going cost, operations and relationship management. Manage strategic community relations efforts and events, as apart of the overall North America Communications and Public Relations region-wide strategy. Assist in developing and executing communications campaigns designed by the North America Communications and Public Relations department, in conjunction with business strategies for SYKES North America region. Monitor and inventory community relations programs initiated by site teams across the region. When appropriate, integrate those initiatives with North America regional public relations initiatives In conjunction with North America Communications strategies, develop and maintain relationships and partnerships throughout the community to include with local organizations to include local government, community organizations and media outlets. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree preferredor three years experience working with non-profit organizations required; or any equivalent combination of related training/education and experience required. Fundraising and event-planning experience preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization Ability to effectively and efficiently plan and facilitate community events, Strong public speaking skills, Self motivated with the ability to work independently with little direction. Ability to maintain open communication and a positive relationship with key audience. Organized and methodical with experience in project management and planning .Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent networking skills to develop and build strong relationships with vendors, contributors and the local community.
