People are at the center of everything we do, and the Director of Corporate Human Resources / Sr HR Business Partner will serve in a key capacity collaborating with senior executive leaders to drive organizational effectiveness and talent engagement with an emphasis on leading growth initiatives at scale, while enabling leaders to build, lead and develop a diverse, high performing team. As the listening mechanism to and from the business, the Director of Corporate HR / Senior HR Business Partner drives engagement, performance management, and leadership/career development initiatives which will inspire our people to love where they work. To be successful, this position must be both strategic and hands-on, motivated by the challenge to build HR solutions to scale, and dedicated to creating a customer-centric approach that ensures the organization's long-term success. This role will focus on the overall transformation of the HRBP model globally for SYKES and will engage and partner with other regional HR leaders for this transformation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partners with senior business leaders (VP and above) to collaboratively execute on the long-term vision for key talent initiatives that consistently improve effectiveness and help achieve overall business goals.
  • Establishes close working relationships to understand business objectives and requirements to assist in the timely delivery of people related solutions.
  • Develops and coaches senior leaders and managers to unleash their potential to drive their businesses and teams forward by building and developing empowering solutions that elevate our people.
  • Executes long-range growth planning that impacts the engagement, performance, leadership development and retention of our workforce.
  • Safeguards SYKES values and enables true inclusion and belonging for all SYKES employees.
  • Engages with Communities of Expertise (COEs) and senior business leaders to build and execute timely, effective and scalable people programs and processes which will support the business, such as employee relations, leadership development, talent review and assessment processes, succession planning, organizational strategy and design, and role-based competency development.
  • Collaborates with leaders to understand and anticipate hiring and development needs against the capabilities needed to deliver business objectives and support overall business goals.
  • Interprets internal and external data to make risk-based business decisions and recommendations that align with the organization's level of risk tolerance.
  • Contributes to the development of HR plans to ensure the business needs of relevant business groups are appropriately understood and represented.
  • Drives future organizational design and change management initiatives to help maintain a high-performing, motivated and impactful team.
  • Maintains current professional level knowledge of legal requirements and state and federal regulations that impact human resources functions.
  • Manages and develops a team of HRBP professionals for supported client groups.
  • May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Required qualifications, skills and experience

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of progressive HR Business Partner experience in a fast-paced, high rate-of-change environment required, five (5) of which are in a leadership role; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree in relevant field and SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.

  • Experience in executive coaching, change management and elevating performance.
  • Superior cognitive ability; ability to simplify complex situations and make sound judgments
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills, written and oral; compelling storyteller
  • Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism
  • Ability to gather, analyze and draw practical conclusions from data, as well as communicate data findings to others
  • Ability to perform under stress associated with responding to/solving problems
  • Must be able to read, write, and demonstrate effective verbal and written communication with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong computer skills including a familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
